Cesar awed by Sam Pinto
Cesar Montano has only good words for his new leading lady Sam Pinto. They are currently doing the action-packed movie Hitman which also stars Mark Herras, Phillip Salvador and Joko Diaz.
Cesar’s own CM Productions and Viva Films are collaborating for the project.
“I’m fortunate to have her as my leading lady in the movie. She will definitely prove here that she’s not just a pretty face and a sexy body but a good actress as well,” he avers.
The award-winning actor admits that at first, he wasn’t expecting much from the voluptuous newcomer.
“I only knew her as FHM’s Sexiest Woman this year. But she surprised me during our acting workshop. She was able to exceed my expectations. The more I admired her because she’s a deadly combination of looks and talent, the type which has great promise to stay long in the field!”
Because of his vocal admiration to Sam, many say his wife Sunshine Cruz might get jealous.
“Oh no, there is no possible way for Shine to get insecure whatsoever. Truth is she also likes Sam. Just like me, Sam is her personal choice to play the role of my leading lady in the movie. The two of them are good. One thing more, Viva also wanted Sam to get the part, so there,” explains Cesar.
According to the rumor mill, he recently considered moving to TV5 because he felt slighted when GMA changed the time slot of his now defunct weekly sitcom Andres de Saya in favor of Manny Pacquiao’s game show Manny, Many Prizes.
“Honestly, I got surprised because I was informed last minute. Anyway, had I known earlier, still I couldn’t do anything if that’s management’s decision. But that’s already water under the bridge now. In fact, I’m renewing my contract with the Kapuso when it expires.
“I’m happy with the plans they’ve lined-up for me. There’s a big-budgeted series which I’ll headline. I would also like that Andres de Saya be revived. It’s a good show. GMA has very huge plans for me in the coming days and this early, I’m already excited!”
So what happened to his proposed project in the Kapatid network, a sitcom, where he’ll co-star with good friends Aga Muhlach and Willie Revillame?
“Well, there were initial talks but it didn’t really prosper,” Cesar states.--Joseph Peter R. Gonzalez
