GMA Network bags 13 CMMA awards

GMA Network recently bagged 13 awards at the recently-concluded 33rd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CCMA).
Its broadcast platforms GMA Channel 7, GMA News TV (GNTV) and Super Radyo DZBB 594 khz received honors for “using the mass media to promote Christian values in an outstanding way.”
 Leading the winners pack is 24 Oras. The primetime newscast anchored by Mike Enriquez and Mel Tiangco won the Best News Program.
Unang Hirit was awarded as Television’s Best Public Service Program, while State of the Nation with Jessica Soho won in the Best News Magazine Program category.
Sandra Aguinaldo’s Pasan Pasan, which aired on GMA 7’s I-Witness, won Best Educational Program. Born To Be Wild, on the other hand, received a Special Citation for Best Adult Educational Program.
Pepito Manaloto was Best Comedy Program; Mel & Joey, which bid farewell in July won the Best Talk Show award. Party Pilipinasreceived the Best Entertainment Program award. Tropang Potchi won a Special Citation for Best Children and Youth Program.
Meanwhile, Super Radyo DZBB 594 khz bagged four awards.
Ikaw Na Ba? The Presidential Interview hosted by Mike Enriquez won in the Best Educational Program for the Radio category.
Aksyon Oro Mismo of Gani Oro won Radio’s Best Public Service Program. Bangon Na, Bayan, anchored by Joel Reyes Zobel, and Super Balita Sa Tanghali, Nationwide!, anchored by Melo del Prado and Gani Oro received Special Citations for Best News Commentary and Best News Program in the Radio category, respectively.
