GMA international channels in Toronto and New Jersey events



GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV – the international channels of GMA Network – take part in the celebration of Filipino heritage, culture, and arts in Toronto and New Jersey as various artists bring Kapuso-flavored entertainment in the areas this weekend.

Today, Kapuso artists Carla Abellana, Jay-R, and Frencheska Farr will perform at the “Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show sa Toronto” in Metro Toronto Convention Center in Canada.

Organized by the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce Toronto – two of the biggest Filipino organizations in Toronto – in coordination with GMA Pinoy TV, the event will not only feature performances from these Kapuso stars but also musical presentations from Pinoy cultural groups and a Santacruzan to give the festivity a complete Filipino feel.

“We at GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV are delighted that we can share in this colorful event with our kababayans in Toronto . They will definitely feel closer to home as our artists bring the Kapuso trademark to the celebrations,” shares Joseph T. Francia, Vice President and Head of Operations for GMA International.

Around 7,000 guests are expected to attend the event, which will also feature other Filipino-Canadian activities in Ontario . During the trade show, 150 Filipino-Canadian exhibitors will showcase the best of their services and products for sale.

“Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show sa Toronto ” is for the benefit of ANCOP Canada (ANswering the Cry Of the Poor) and of the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

Meanwhile, GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV, together with the Kapuso radio stations Super Radyo DZBB and Barangay LS-FM, will be one with the Filipinos in Jersey City , New Jersey on Sunday (June 26) as the channels celebrate the Philippine American Friendship Day via the 21st PAFCOM Grand Parade and Festival.

An annual festivity led by the Philippine American Friendship Committee, Inc. (PAFCOM), this year’s showcase of Filipino culture and street entertainment, with the theme “Unity – Together as one”, will be joined by Kapuso artists Iza Calzado, Jennylyn Mercado, Aljur Abrenica, and Mark Bautista.

The Parade will start at 12 noon along West Side Avenue and will make its final stop at Lincoln Park where the Street Fair and Festival is set to begin at 1pm. Performances from young local celebrities Alyssa Shoemaker and Kirby Asunto await the guests, plus a special appearance from news anchor Kristine Johnson.--
