Facebook Messenger is officially out!
Mobile phone geeks, here this! Facebook just released a standalone mobile application separate from the social network's usual app you're probably using right now. This new Facebook messeger is intended run on your Androids and iPhones, it might even bring video chat in the feature too! You see, the messenger contain a code that might be a precursor ato the company’s planned video feature on mobile phones. A software update or two in the future may bring that plan into fruition. Video chat is after all already available on Facebook.
Still can't grasp what's this big fuss is about another Messenger? Picture this. It works closely like Blackberry's BBM, only this one promises that it may have the ability for video chat soon. This could be Mark Zuckerberg's counter-attack to a similar feature of his arch-nemensis, the Google+ Huddle. It could also be a strategic first move on Apple's own yet-to-be released system dubbed, the iMessage. Facebook's big edge on this battle, it already has over 750-million users on it's artillary.
The new application was aquired from Beluga, the same expert team who initially introduced its own group messaging application last February. So Beluga users, you'll have no problem navigating through this new FB Messenger since the apps are almost mirror images of each other. This move finally puts to rest all the speculations, their purchase of the technology and talent of Beluga is a clear sign of what's to come.
So, you're itching to try it already? Here's what to expect. Once you log on to the Messenger, you'll immediately see the list of chats and direct messages. You can send an IM to one or to a group of your buddies faster than you can finish reading this sentence. On your bud's end, they'll get a push notification that you just sent a message if the app isn't activated.
