Manilyn Reynes nearly died with her last pregnancy
Manilyn Reynes took a vacation from showbiz as she had a difficult pregnancy with her and Aljon Jimenez’ third baby boy. “I had placenta previa so I was bedridden for two months,” she says. “After I delivered naman the baby, nagkasakit ito with blood infection at na-dengue pa ko, so we had to stay at the hospital for two weeks. Mahirap ang pinagdaanan naming mag-ina, but I’m lucky to have a very caring husband like Aljon na talagang inalagaan ako ng husto at pinalakas ang loob ko nang husto para hindi ako bumigay o sumuko. Sobrang kapit talaga ako kay Lord at panay ang dasal namin.”
She’s now back as Katrina, the aunt of Jillian Ward in “Daldalita”, which replaces “Futbolilits” at GMA-7’s 6 PM slot starting this Monday. She’s reunited with Ogie Alcasid as her brother-in-law. “Ang asawa rito ni Ogie is Donna Cruz and I’m her eldest sister,” she adds. “Nang mawala si Donna after giving birth, I helped Ogie to take care of the baby he named Lolita. Kaso, nagkaroon kami ng misunderstanding and I left. Nawala naman ang baby at napulot ni Timmy Cruz sa itikan. Doon natuto ang bata how to talk with the animals.”
She and Ogie were together in “Feel na Feel”, Ogie’s first movie. Also in the cast are Rufa Mae Quinto as Jillian’s abusive stepmom, Isabel Oli as her teacher, Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose, Jinky Oda, Marc Abaya, Arnold Reyes, Spanky Manikan and talking animals like Daisy the Duck (voice by Candy Pangilinan), Bobby the Pig (voice by Wally Bayola) and Kirat the Mouse (voice by Pekto), directed by Don Michael Perez who also helmed past hits like “Trudis Liit” and “Bantatay”.
